DESCRIPTION:Banu Asad ibn Khuzaymah is an Arab tribe. They are Adnanite Arabs\, powerful and one of the most famous tribes. They are widely respected by many Arab tribes\, respected by Shia Muslims because they have buried the body of Husayn ibn Ali\, his family and companions with the help of Ali ibn Husayn Zayn al-Abidin\, the son of Husayn\, and many martyrs from the Battle of Karbala are from the tribe. Today\, many members of the tribe live in the Iraqi cities of Basra\, Najaf\, Kufa\, Karbala\, Nasiriyah\, Amarah\, Kut\, Hillah\, Diyala and Baghdad. There is a branch from the Banu Assad in Northern Sudan called Banu Kahil who have migrated from the Hijaz to Sudan. SUMMARY:⚔️ Battle of Siffin\, 37 AH
DESCRIPTION:The Battle of Siffin was the second battle of the First Fitna\, after the Battle of the Camel. It was fought between Ali ibn Abi Talib\, the fourth of the Rashidun caliphs\, and Muawiyah I on the banks of the Euphrates river in Siffin around the present-day Syrian city of Raqqa. The armies had encamped at the site for more than two months prior to the battle and the offensive was finally launched by the Qurra’ in Ali’s army on July 26 and the battle lasted till July 28. SUMMARY:⚔️ Victory to Ali in the Battle of Nahrawan
DESCRIPTION:The Battle of Nahrawan was fought between the army of Caliph Ali and the rebel group called Kharijites in July 658 CE. They were a group of pious allies of Ali during the First Muslim Civil War. They separated from him following the Battle of Siffin when Ali agreed to settle the dispute with Mu’awiya\, governor of Syria\, through negotiations\, a move labeled by the group as against the Qur’an. After failed attempts to regain their loyalty and because of their rebellious and murderous activities\, Ali confronted the Kharijites near their headquarters by the Nahrawan Canal\, near modern-day Baghdad. DESCRIPTION:Salman the Persian or Salman Al-Farsi\, born Rouzbeh Khoshnudan\, was a companion of the Islamic prophet Muhammad and the first Persian who converted to Islam. He is credited with the suggestion of digging a trench around Medina\, a Sasanian military technique when it was attacked by Mecca in the Battle of the Trench. SUMMARY:Martyrdom of Ali ar-Ridha\, 203 AH
DESCRIPTION:Ali ibn Musa al-Ridha\, also spelled Rida or Reza in Persian\, also known as Abu al-Hasan\, was a descendant of the Islamic prophet Muhammad\, and the eighth Imam in Twelver Shia Islam\, after his father Musa al-Kadhim\, and before his son Muhammad al-Jawad. He was an Imam of knowledge according to the Zaydi (Fiver) Shia school. He is also seen as a major religious figure for many Sunnis\, particularly Sufis. He lived in a period when Abbasid caliphs were facing numerous difficulties\, the most important of which was Shia revolts. The Caliph Al-Ma’mun sought out a remedy for this problem by appointing Al-Ridha as his successor\, through whom he could be involved in worldly affairs. However\, according to the Shia view\, when Al-Ma’mun saw that the Imam gained even more popularity\, he decided to correct his mistake by poisoning him. DESCRIPTION:Hasan ibn Ali al-Askari was a Muslim scholar and the 11th Imam in Twelver Shia Islam\, after his father Ali al-Hadi. He is also an important figure to Sunni-Sufis. He was called Abu Muhammad and Ibn al-Ridha. Because Samarra\, the city where he lived\, was a garrison town\, he is generally known as al-Askari. Al-Askari married Narjis Khatun and was kept under house arrest or in prison for most of his life. According to some Shia sources\, he was poisoned at the age of 28 on the orders of the Abbasid caliph Al-Mu’tamid and was buried in Samarra. DESCRIPTION:The Quba Mosque is a mosque located on the outskirts of Medina\, Saudi Arabia. Initially\, the mosque was built 6 kilometres off Medina in the village of Quba\, before Medina expanded to include this village. Depending on whether the Mosque of the Companions in the Eritrean city of Massawa is older or not\, it may be the first mosque in the world that dates to the lifetime of the Islamic prophet Muhammad in the 7th century CE. According to records\, its first stones were positioned by Muhammad as soon as he arrived on his emigration from the city of Mecca to Medina\, and the mosque was completed by his companions. Muhammad spent 14 days in this mosque praying qaṣr while waiting for Ali to arrive in Medina\, after the latter stayed behind in Mecca to safeguard Muhammad’s life and safe escape by sleeping in Muhammad’s bed in his place\, an event referred to in the Quran\, sura al Baqara verse 207.
